Book Club News

I have been a member of a Book Club for seven years.  We meet at a member of the book club's house about every 4-5 weeks.  I love being part of the book club because it has made me read several books that I would have never chosen on my own but really enjoyed reading them.  Our next book club pick is "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese.  I have heard nothing but high acclaims for this book so I am looking forward to reading it.  I actually voted to read the new book, "Catherine the Great" by Robert Massie.  I guess I will have to read that one on my own or hopefully it will be on the list next month for our book group!!!

My book club met this past Sunday, January 8th to discuss "The White Tiger".  Most everyone enjoyed the book and we had a pretty long night spent discussing it.  Some of the members had visited India so they were able to share pictures.  I was actually shocked by some of the pictures that I saw.  I wouldn't put "The White Tiger" as one of my favorite books and I probably would only give it 3 stars out of 5.
