CUPCAKES WAR READING CHALLENGE 2012
(Come Up and Participate in the Challenge And Keep Earning Sweets While Actively Reading!)
I thought that since the Cupcakes War is so much fun to watch on television. It amazes me what great creative cupcakes the bakers make. I thought why not host a Cupcakes War Challenge while reading books. Since I love books and I think cupcakes are cute and yummy, why not just combine the two! So here it is.......
WHEN: Throughout the months of 2012 – Starting in January.
WHY: Just for the fun of setting a different reading goal each month.
WHAT: Reading a different reading genre each month and meeting goal.
WHERE: Online
WHO: Anyone that likes to challenge themselves to read by setting a goal.
HOW: Signing up on Mr. Linky to participate in the Cupcakes War Challenge. Each month will have a designated genre to read. Sometimes it is easy to get in a rut and read the same kind of books. This challenge will help you to choose different genres!
I hope that you decide to join the Challenge!
SCHEDULE:
JANUARY: JUVENILE FICTION
FEBRUARY: ROMANCE FICTION
MARCH: MYSTERIES
APRIL: ADULT FICTION
MAY: MEMOIRS
JUNE: JUST CHICK LIT
JULY: JUST NEW YORK TIMES
BESTSELLER LIST BOOKS
AUGUST: AUTOBIOGRAPHIES
SEPTEMBER: SOUTHERN FICTION
OCTOBER: OWN CHOICE
NOVEMBER: NOTHING BUT INSPIRATIONAL
DECEMBER: DEBUT AUTHORS
I would imagine that everyone that participates could set a goal of at least two (2) books in the designated genre for the month. At the end of the month, I will display a different cupcake that you can add to your site. If you successfully accomplish the goal each month, you will end with a dozen cupcakes on your site! I hope that you decide to join in the fun with this fun challenge!!!

Gotta say, pretty darn excited about this challenge. I really hope I can do well so I can gather cupcakes. :) Who wouldn't love cupcakes on their blog??!!! I love trying to branch out with my reading genres, so this is perfect incentive to try harder to do that. :)
I would love to join but I'm wondering what does "Inspirational" mean? Do you mean a religious based book or reading the autobiography/biography of someone who inspires you?
I feel it could be either one. If someone chooses to read a religious book because they think it is inspirational or like you said a biography that is an inspirational story. You choose! I hope that this explanation helps.
This sounds like a great idea! I'm in!!!
Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas! I still can't believe that it is already here!
I just love the idea of this challenge and the button is the cutest by far. I would love to join but does it have to be 2 books? I ask only because I have already signed up for 21 challenges (lol what can I say I am a challenge addict!!!!..I cohost the Reading Challenge Addict Challenge)and not sure if I can do 2 per month.
I was just saying that in order to get a cupcake of the month you would need to read two in the specific genre. Hopefully, some of the books you would read for your other challenges would also be able to be used for this one! Think about it. Merry Christmas!
Thank you, your explanation was really helpful. I'm totally joining now because I want those cupcakes. Happy holidays.
does JUVENILE FICTION also mean teen fiction as well.
I'm in!
Where do I link up reviews for books I have read?
Yes, Juvenile Fiction also means Teen Fiction or Young Adult Fiction.
Also, I am working on the link for the reviews. You can forward it to me by email if you want and then I will post it. My email is bichonlady21@comcast.net. Thanks Angie.
Also, I have to do over the chart as it isn't printing as I expected!!!!
Hi Angie,
Here is the email to send your review:
bgspalding.truffles@blogger.com
This will put your review information directly into my draft box. I will then read over and set it up to post. Make sure that you have a link to your site as well. I hope that this helps.
Love this challenge. I'm really looking forward to it. I need some motivation!
I am posting Angie's review on January 7th and Amy's review will post on January 9th. Both of the posts are linked to the reviewers' blogs. Thanks ladies for sharing! You can visit more information on Goodreads as I have a bookshelf posted there with books being read by the group! I am also going to create a bookshelf with the books being read each month on this blog!
Do you want to know what we are reading?
Yes, I definitely want you to share with us what you are reading! What have you chosen to read next? You reviews are slated to post sometime this week. By the way, I have put The Wizard of Oz on my list to read sometime.
Hi Amy,
When you go to the Goodreads site, you can find me in the group section under Cupcakes War Reading Challenge 2012. If you join, we can become friends on the site. I am not sure how you can find me otherwise. Good Question?!
